Jindos
will often behave like wild animals. (heh heh) Fences and walls mean nothing
to them;if these "barriers" happen to be in their way, they will either
climb or jump over these annoying obstructions. (Jindos can jump over fences
that are more than 6 feet tall!) Jindos do not feel the need to obey any
man-made laws and as a result, they will often find themselves in heaps
of trouble. Did I mention that Jindos are HARD to take care of? Maybe I
should also mention that this dog isn't for most people?... AND that Jindo
owners will respond to Jindos in only two ways: they will either love the
dog or be driven insane by it.
Jindos tend to become insanely jealous, over a variety of 'issues'.
Because of this jealousy, it is definitely NOT a good idea to suddenly
bring home 'a little doggy friend' for your jindo one day. A Jindo
will be fine with a pet that has already been established in your home
when he/she first arrives (a jindo will come to see your other pets as
part of his/her property) but the addition of a surprise pet will stir
feelings of jealousy within the heart of your little demon-dog. (not
all jindos will react in this way, but I wouldn't take any unnecessary
risks!)
Jindos
will become aggressive only if they feel that they themselves or
their property (this includes humans) are being threatened or challenged.
(Jindos are excellent guard dogs.) Once the threat has been 'taken
care of', Jindos return to being their calm, charming and suspicious selves.
very suspicious. A Jindo feels the need to investigate everyone and everything, to sniff out intentions etc. Once a Jindo has gleaned whatever info he can from his object of focus, he can and will store this in a great memory. Jindos find a way to remeber everything and can actually hold grudges; because of this, it may take a while to gain a Jindo's trust and respect. However, once you and a Jindo reach an understanding, you will be rewarded with lasting, incredible loyalty and a friendship/partnership with a value beyond words. Though it is difficult at times, having a Jindo around will give you the greatest dog-owning experience! (I am not biased here...)
